After graduating from London University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Andrew moved to Bristol in 1980, and since then the city has been home for his wife and family.
Alongside a successful career as an environmental consultant (one of the five founding Directors of global consultancy SLR) Andrew has in recent years increasingly become involved in charity work and social enterprise / business in Bristol.
He set up and Chairs FareShare South West, is Chair of Bristol Together, is Chair of Crisis Centre Ministries and trustee of a number of other community based initiatives focusing on urban regeneration and employment creation. He has led the redevelopment of a large number of semi-derelict buildings for the benefit of local communities and charities. He is also currently leading city-wide partnership projects focused on alleviating food poverty and creating jobs, training and mentoring opportunities for ex-offenders.

Andrew is Founding Director of one of the fastest growing and most successful global environmental consulting firms. Started in 1994, and now employing over 1,300 professional staff in Europe, North America, Africa and Australasia. Andrew advises major investors (banks and private equity houses) in the waste and renewable energy sectors.
